Today, Congressman Mike Lawler, Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued a statement condemning recent missile attacks by Iran targeting civilians in Israel. The attacks have resulted in over 20 Israeli civilian casualties.
“I am outraged at how Iran has been conducting itself in this conflict – indiscriminately killing Jews and Arabs alike,” said Congressman Lawler. He criticized the actions of Iran’s leadership, describing Ayatollah as a “bloodthirsty dictator” and highlighting concerns about Iran’s nuclear ambitions against Israel.
Lawler emphasized the importance of U.S. support for Israel amidst ongoing threats. “With hypersonic and ballistic missiles raining down on Tel-Aviv, Haifa, and across Israel, and with civilians hiding in shelters for days on end, it’s imperative that the United States stand by our staunch ally, Israel,” he stated. He urged President Trump to maintain collaboration with Prime Minister Netanyahu and consider all options regarding Iran.
Representing New York’s 17th Congressional District, Lawler is noted for his bipartisan approach and effectiveness as a freshman lawmaker during the 118th Congress.
