Congressman Mike Lawler of New York’s 17th district, encompassing areas north of New York City, has marked his first 100 days in the 119th Congress with notable legislative accomplishments and community engagement. Lawler introduced 21 pieces of legislation and cosponsored 232 bills. Among his significant achievements is the Laken Riley Act, now law, and the Enhanced Iran Sanctions Act and Remote Access Security Act, both of which passed the House Foreign Affairs Committee with full support.

Lawler, working beyond legislation, has actively collaborated with the White House to combat congestion pricing in New York City. He is also involved in lifting the SALT Cap and participating in negotiations on the tax bill. Additionally, he holds the position of Vice Chair of Communications for the Financial Services Committee and chairs the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

In his community work, Lawler has made numerous visits to district events and hosted a teletown hall with more than 4,000 participants. He helped resolve over 800 constituent cases, returning $2.5 million to his district, and announced plans for four countywide town halls, totaling 12 in his first two-and-a-half years.

“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made in these first 100 days,” stated Congressman Lawler. “From introducing key legislation to advancing bills through committee, I am delivering on my commitments to the people of NY-17.”

“I won’t stop fighting for the Hudson Valley, and I look forward to more bipartisan wins for my constituents in the coming weeks and months,” concluded Lawler.

Lawler has been recognized as a highly bipartisan member of Congress and was the most effective freshman lawmaker in the previous Congress.
