Congressman Mike Lawler posted a series of statements on October 20, 2025, addressing international and domestic issues, as well as extending greetings for Diwali.
In his first post of the day, Lawler marked the celebration of Diwali by stating, “This Diwali, we join millions around the world in celebrating the Festival of Lights. A time to reflect on the goodness, community, and hope. Wishing all who celebrate a joyful and prosperous Diwali!” (October 20, 2025).
Later that evening, he commented on ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Russia and Ukraine. Lawler wrote, “If Vladimir Putin is serious about negotiating a lasting peace then he will come to the table and actually engage in talks. If he is not, then the U.S. should take all neccesary measures including secondary sanctions and further arming Ukraine to defend itself from Russian” (October 20, 2025).
Addressing domestic policy toward drug trafficking and public health concerns related to fentanyl overdoses in another post that night, Lawler stated: “We can and should all agree that designating drug cartels as terrorist organizations is warranted, when tens of thousands of Americans lose their lives to fentanyl overdoses a year. I support the efforts of the President in his aggressive pursuit to halt drug trafficking into our” (October 20, 2025).
