Congressman Mike Lawler has announced the securing of nearly $2.5 million in federal funding to address chronic flooding issues in the Town of Clarkstown. The funding will be allocated towards a project on Jeffrey Court and flooding issues along the New York State Thruway. The projects being funded include a flood prevention initiative on Jeffrey Court and flood mitigation efforts along the New York State Thruway in the Town of Clarkstown. The funding will be utilized for constructing a levee and drainage improvement tools in the Jeffrey Court area to prevent floodwaters from inundating properties during rain and storm events. Additionally, the New York State Thruway Authority will conduct a scoping study to address flooding issues caused by a current culvert diverting water away from the Thruway.
