Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents New York’s 17th congressional district, posted a series of messages on his social media account highlighting community milestones and personal celebrations.
On February 14, 2026, Lawler marked the anniversary of a local business in Rockland County. He wrote, “Today was a special day in Rockland County as we celebrated 50 years of Sparky’s Diner in Haverstraw serving our community. Since 1976, owner Jeannie Nicolakis has built Sparky’s into a place where everyone is treated like family, stories are shared over coffee, and kindness is” (posted February 14, 2026).
Later that same day, Lawler shared a personal message for Valentine’s Day. In his post he stated, “This Valentine’s Day, I’m celebrating the loves of my life — my wonderful wife and our two incredible daughters. Thank you for filling our home with warmth, happiness, and so much love. Being your husband and dad is the greatest gift I could ever ask for.” (posted February 14, 2026).
On February 15, Lawler recognized National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day by expressing gratitude to law enforcement professionals in his district. He wrote: “February 15 marks National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day. I extend my sincere gratitude to the dedicated officers serving across NY-17 who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of our students within our schools. Your professionalism, leadership,” (posted February 15, 2026).
National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day is observed annually on February 15 to honor school resource officers who contribute to student safety across the United States.
Lawler has represented New York’s lower Hudson Valley region since being elected to Congress in November 2022.
