Congressman Mike Lawler shared updates on his recent activities in a series of posts on July 21 and 22, 2025. The tweets highlighted his participation in policy discussions, legislative hearings, and the passage of new investment legislation.
On July 21, Lawler wrote about attending an event organized by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). He stated, “It was a pleasure to join the conversation at @AIPAC’s annual Summer Seminar Series last week. Thank you for the opportunity to join and for the engaging discussion.”
Later that day, Lawler described his role chairing a Middle East and North Africa (MENA) hearing. He posted, “Last week, I chaired a MENA hearing and had the opportunity to question Acting Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of State, José Cunningham, on the Management Family FY26 Budget Posture.”
On July 22, Lawler commented on legislative progress regarding investment access. He tweeted, “As a cosponsor, I’m excited that the Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act has passed the House. This opens the door for families across the country to access high-growth investments by allowing anyone to demonstrate their knowledge through an SEC exam, rather than relying”.
Congressman Mike Lawler represents New York’s 17th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. AIPAC is known for its advocacy work related to strengthening U.S.-Israel relations. The Equal Opportunity for All Investors Act aims to broaden access to certain investment opportunities by enabling individuals to qualify through an exam administered by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), rather than solely meeting income or net worth thresholds.
