Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents New York’s 17th Congressional District, recently shared several updates on his official Twitter account regarding legislative initiatives and recognitions.
On November 19, 2025, Lawler addressed the challenges many Americans face when seeking fertility treatments. He stated, “Starting a family should be a blessing, not a financial burden, yet fertility treatments remain out of reach for many. That’s why I’m reintroducing my bipartisan IVF Access and Affordability Act, which creates a federal tax credit of up to $20,000 for individuals and $40,000 for”. The proposed legislation aims to provide significant federal tax credits to make in vitro fertilization (IVF) more accessible.
Later that day, Lawler highlighted the achievements of John Farley during remarks on the House floor. On November 19, 2025, he posted: “I got to recognize John Farley on the House floor this week. John grew up here in Rockland County, served our nation proudly in the United States Navy, and built a career as a member of Steamfitters Local 638 in New York City. But to those who knew him best, he was simply ‘Pop.'”
In another update from November 19, 2025, Lawler expressed gratitude after receiving an award at an event hosted by Center Forward at the Royal Norwegian Embassy. He wrote: “Honored to receive Center Forward’s Advancing Good Governance Award last night at the Royal Norwegian Embassy. I’ve always believed that folks in NY-17 expect their officials to focus on delivering solutions. That’s the approach I take every day, and I’m honored that this work”.
Lawler has served as a U.S. Representative since January 2023 and is known for advocating bipartisan approaches within Congress.
