On Sunday, March 8, at noon, Connor Southwell, an alumnus of Suffern Senior High School, took the field with his current college team, the Marist Red Foxes, who defeated the Manhattan Jaspers 14-7 in an NCAA Division I baseball contest.
The teams faced off at McCann Baseball Field, marking their third encounter of the season. The Red Foxes had previously secured a 17-5 victory over the Jaspers in a game played Saturday, March 7.
Southwell pitched two innings, surrendering one earned run with one walk and one strikeout during the contest.
Looking ahead, the Red Foxes are scheduled to play St. John’s Red Storm on Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at Jack Kaiser Stadium.
