The Westchester County Health Care Corporation Board of Directors has announced the appointment of David Lubarsky, MD, MBA, FASA, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). Dr. Lubarsky is set to assume his new role on February 17th.

Dr. Lubarsky will join WMCHealth from UC Davis Health, where he currently serves as Vice Chancellor of Human Health Sciences and CEO. “Dr. Lubarsky is a visionary leader with demonstrated success managing complex healthcare organizations,” said Zubeen Shroff, Chairman of the WCHCC Board of Directors.

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new position, Dr. Lubarsky stated, “Patients are at the heart of everything we do, and I am inspired by WMCHealth’s unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care.”

At UC Davis Health since 2018, Dr. Lubarsky oversaw academic, research, and clinical programs while managing an annual budget nearing $5 billion. He significantly increased revenues for UC Davis Medical Center during his tenure.

With roots in Westchester County and having begun his medical career at Westchester Medical Center, Dr. Lubarsky will succeed Michael D. Israel following nearly two decades at WMCHealth’s helm.

Zubeen Shroff acknowledged Israel’s contributions: “On behalf of the Board of Directors we want to congratulate and thank Mike for his leadership over the last two decades.”

WMCHealth is a comprehensive healthcare system headquartered in Valhalla, New York with nine hospitals across seven campuses in Hudson Valley.
