About 39.4 percent of the 3,413 degrees and certificates handed out by SUNY Empire State College in 2017-18 were to students in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency’s National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Springs conferred 839 bachelor’s degrees and 246 associate’s degrees in business, management, marketing, and related support services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor’s degree in general business/commerce. Data shows the school gave out 803 bachelor’s degrees in general business/commerce, followed by 494 bachelor’s degrees in community organization and advocacy and 187 bachelor’s degrees in general psychology.

The college enrolled 10,424 students for 2017-18, including 9,307 in undergraduate programs and 1,117 in graduate programs.
