H-1B Insights: Employers in Rockland Reporter publication area file 80 petitions throughout 2024

Employers based in the Rockland Reporter publication area submitted 80 H-1B petitions during 2024, according to data provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services via the H-1B Employer Data Hub. Of these, 70 were approved (87.5%), while 10 were denied (12.5%).

Employers are classified under industries based on their reported operations and may be involved in multiple industries.

The H-1B visa program allows U.S. employers to temporarily hire foreign workers in specialty occupations requiring specialized knowledge and at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. The Manufacturing industry led the H-1B filings locally during 2024, with 37 petitions (46.3% of all submissions), and an approval rate of 75.7%. Meanwhile, the Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services industry was the second largest contributor, filing 23 petitions (28.8% of the total), with an approval rate of 100%.

The Rockland Reporter publication area employers with the most petitions during 2024 included RK Pharma, Inc., which filed 30 petitions with an approval rate of 70%, Teledyne Lecroy, Inc. with six petitions and an approval rate of 100%, and Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc., which filed four petitions with an approval rate of 100%.

Compared to 2023, the Rockland Reporter publication area saw a 14.3% increase in the number of H-1B petitions during 2024.
