Highland Medical, an affiliate of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, has received the Great Place To Work Certification, a recognition based on employee feedback regarding their workplace experience. The certification process, conducted by the organization Great Place To Work, evaluates companies on factors such as culture and leadership behaviors.

This year, 80% of Highland Medical employees reported that it is a great place to work, which is 13 percentage points higher than the average U.S. company.

“Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work. She added, “By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Highland Medical stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees.”

Yadira Castro, AVP at Highland Medical, highlighted the organization’s supportive atmosphere: “A large part of what makes Highland Medical a great place to work is our collegial atmosphere, which creates a welcoming environment, nurtures our team, and enhances growth opportunities. We provide for the health and well-being of our employees with the same dedication we offer to our patients. The Highland Medical team is a family, and we are proud that they recognize our organization as a Great Place to Work.”

Highland Medical follows “We Care Standards” for both patients and staff. Employees receive access to comprehensive health benefit plans for individuals and families. The organization also offers job training programs, tuition reimbursement options, internal promotion opportunities, regular recognition for outstanding performance, and celebrations of significant events.

According to research from Great Place To Work, job seekers are significantly more likely to find strong leadership in certified workplaces. Employees at these organizations are also more likely to anticipate coming to work each day and report fair pay practices as well as equitable opportunities for advancement.

Highland Medical operates a network of medical practices staffed by physicians across multiple specialties in partnership with Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
