Today, Congressman Mike Lawler, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, addressed the recent Iranian strikes on U.S. bases in the region. Expressing concern for those affected, he stated, “I pray for the safety of our brave men and women serving our country overseas, and the thousands of civilians on these military bases.” He described the attack as an escalation by Iran.
Lawler emphasized that any aggression against the United States or its allies would be met with a strong response. “Since this wasn’t clear to the Ayatollah before, any attack against the United States or our allies will bring a decisive response,” he concluded.
Congressman Lawler is known for his bipartisan approach in Congress and represents New York’s 17th Congressional District. This district includes parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties. He was recognized as one of the most effective freshman lawmakers in the 118th Congress.
