Congressman Mike Lawler, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Middle East and North Africa subcommittee, has responded to recent Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He expressed support for Israel’s actions, emphasizing the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
“Just two weeks ago, I was in the Middle East leading a bipartisan congressional delegation, and I understand the gravity of a nuclear Iran. I fully back Israel’s move to strike Iran and take out its nuclear program before it’s too late. Iran, under zero circumstances, can be allowed to have nuclear weapons, and we can’t waver now,” stated Chairman Lawler.
Lawler also stressed the United States’ commitment to defending its allies in the region. “Let there be no doubt, we will defend our ally Israel, our other partners in the region, and our military and diplomatic personnel. Iran should understand that there will be grave consequences for any actions they take in response to this justified strike on their nuclear facilities,” he concluded.
Congressman Lawler represents New York’s 17th Congressional District. He is recognized as one of Congress’s most bipartisan members and was rated as the most effective freshman lawmaker in the 118th Congress.
