On June 20, Congressman Lawler mentioned attending a meeting with the Rockland County Building Trades. In his post, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with them and provided an update on developments in Washington. He stated: “Yesterday, I joined a Rockland County Building Trades meeting to update them on what’s happening down in Washington. Thank you for the opportunity to join!”
Later that day, Congressman Lawler acknowledged the work of The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). He shared his experience of meeting community members involved with The Arc and emphasized the importance of supporting their efforts: “The Arc Greater Hudson Valley does amazing work for our I/DD community, helping to uplift and support them and their families. Ruth worked for 35 years as a nurse at the VA Hospital in the Bronx and continued her career working at Rockland Psychiatric Center in Orangeburg.”
