Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents New York’s 17th congressional district, shared updates on July 22, 2025, regarding his recent activities and acknowledgments through a series of posts on social media.
In the first post of the day, Lawler wrote about meeting with a foreign diplomat: “I had the opportunity to sit down with Ambassador Ursu of Moldova. Thank you for joining me as you round out your visit here in the United States.” (July 22, 2025).
Later that evening, Lawler congratulated a colleague from New York on a new leadership position within Congress. He stated: “Congrats to my friend and fellow New Yorker @RepGarbarino on being elected Chair of Homeland Security. It’s a privilege to serve with him and now to see him lead “ (July 22, 2025).
In another update posted that night, Lawler reported on local damage following severe weather in his district: “Over the weekend, I visited the Hudson Valley Interarts Center in Patterson, New York, along with Kevin Byrne. Their building, unfortunately, took damage during last week’s heavy rain. Thankfully, no one was in the building at the time.” (July 22, 2025).
