Today, Congressman Mike Lawler reintroduced the IVF Access and Affordability Act, aiming to alleviate the financial challenges associated with in vitro fertilization (IVF) services for families. The legislation proposes a tax credit of up to $20,000 for individuals and $40,000 for couples filing jointly to mitigate the high costs of assisted reproductive technology.

"Too many families in New York and across the country struggle with the financial burden of fertility treatments," stated Congressman Lawler. "IVF and other fertility services should never feel out of reach for those who dream of having children."

He further emphasized, "For those struggling with infertility, access to IVF can make all the difference. This legislation is about ensuring that every family who wants to have children has the opportunity to do so, without being priced out of care."

Carol Ann Schwartz, Hadassah National President, expressed support: "Too many families, including many Jewish families, face infertility in their journey toward parenthood. Hadassah supports a wide array of options that make infertility treatments more accessible, including the tax credits outlined in the IVF Access and Affordability Act and insurance coverage." She added appreciation for Representative Lawler's efforts: "We commend Representative Lawler for introducing legislation that alleviates the burden of costly and difficult infertility treatments for American families."

Congressman Lawler is recognized as one of Congress's most bipartisan members and represents New York's 17th Congressional District. This district is located just north of New York City and includes all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
