At Montefiore Nyack Hospital, patients at The Infusion Center received an unexpected gesture of support from Subaru of America, Inc. and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). As part of the annual Subaru Loves to Care campaign, representatives distributed warm blankets and comfort kits to individuals undergoing treatment. This initiative is designed to provide hope and a personal touch to those battling cancer.
The event this year included social media influencers and cancer awareness advocates Tia Stokes and Jelien Ramos. They personally delivered gifts and offered encouragement to patients and their families by sharing their own experiences with cancer recovery. Their presence highlighted the importance of community support in the healing process.
Since its inception in 2015, the Subaru Loves to Care program has delivered over 300,000 blankets and more than 50,000 arts and crafts kits nationwide. The collaboration between Subaru and LLS emphasizes not only fighting cancer through research but also ensuring that patients feel supported during their treatment journey.
Subaru, LLS, along with supporters like Tia Stokes and Jelien Ramos, continue to show that small gestures can provide emotional strength to those facing difficult battles. Participating Subaru retailers are contributing to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult Fund. Additionally, Subaru will match donations made through LLS.org during June 2025 up to $100,000. This fund provides financial assistance for non-medical expenses such as groceries and transportation for young blood cancer patients.
