April 1, 2020 – IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE FOR PIERMONT RESIDENTS
*The Rockland County Health Department confirms that the COVID-19 virus is present in the Village of Piermont*
The Village of Piermont has been monitoring State and County notices regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The Rockland County Health Department has released information stating that there are 9 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus in the 10968 area code.
It is absolutely imperative that all Piermont residents adhere to the County Health Department’s posted guidelines to prevent the further spread of the virus in our community (the link: https://rocklandgov.com/depart…/health/coronavirus-covid-19/ will get you to detailed information regarding safety, testing, and preventative measures to help stop the spread).
The Village Building Department has contacted managing agents of multi-family buildings to insure that recommended cleaning protocols are followed for common areas in affected multi-family dwellings – please be aware that residents should be particularly careful to limit their time spent in high traffic areas, and to make sure to follow established guidelines regarding hand-washing and social distancing in high traffic areas of all multi-family dwellings.
