Did you know approximately 1 in 10 Americans aged 60 + have experienced some form of elder abuse?
County Executive Ed Day, together with the Rockland County Department of Social Services and the Rockland County Office for the Aging, proclaimed June 15, 2022 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Rockland County.
The proclamation read "On this day, Americans of all ages join the international community to raise awareness and help bring an end to elder abuse. It is up to us, as citizens, organizations, communities and governments to work collectively to prevent abuse of older adults in their homes and communities."
