Representatives Lawler and Correa Introduce Bipartisan ADA 30 Days to Comply Act

Representative Lawler highlighted the importance of the ADA 30 Days to Comply Act, stating, "Nobody is helped by lengthy ADA lawsuits that get bogged down in the court system." Representative Correa echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the need to support small businesses in achieving ADA compliance. He stated, "Small business owners don’t always know what local building codes are. If they aren’t meeting these requirements, they deserve 30 days to get it right."

Various organizations have expressed their support for the ADA 30 Days to Comply Act, recognizing its significance in protecting individuals with disabilities and small businesses from costly litigation. The International Franchise Association (IFA) commended Representative Lawler for leading on this issue, emphasizing the bill's role in strengthening ADA compliance for small businesses.

Chirag Shah, from the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), highlighted the importance of the legislation in protecting small business owners from meritless lawsuits, stating, "This legislation will help protect hoteliers against meritless lawsuits brought by serial litigants with no intention of becoming hotel guests."

The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) also voiced their support for the bill, noting the importance of allowing small businesses the opportunity to respond to lawsuits rather than face financial burdens. They expressed gratitude towards Representative Lawler for his support of small businesses.

The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America emphasized the bill's role in creating inclusive workplaces, stating, "The ADA 30 Days to Comply Act provides the mutually beneficial opportunity for well-intentioned employers to remedy inadvertent oversights before final adjudication."

Overall, the bipartisan introduction of the ADA 30 Days to Comply Act by Representatives Lawler and Correa has garnered support from a wide range of organizations.
