Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) announced today that his office has resolved over 4,000 constituent cases for residents of New York's 17th District and their families. These cases included assisting veterans in obtaining benefits, expediting passports, facilitating green card acquisitions and visa renewals, advocating with the IRS for tax refunds, securing Social Security or Medicare benefits, and ensuring safe returns from international locations such as Israel and Haiti.

"Nothing is more important than serving the constituents I was elected to represent. That includes my work on their behalf in Washington and the important work being done in our District to serve Hudson Valley families," said Congressman Lawler.

"I'm so thankful to my hardworking district staff, without whom none of this would be possible. From day one, they have worked tirelessly to resolve over 4,000 cases – helping veterans receive benefits payments they were due, getting relatives home from dangerous situations overseas, returning long-awaited refunds to taxpayers, assisting seniors in our community by ensuring they receive Social Security or Medicare payments, expediting passport or green card processing, and so more that has positively impacted the lives of my constituents," continued Congressman Lawler.

"I'm so glad we have been able to help so many residents across our community, making their lives a little bit easier," Congressman Lawler concluded. "I encourage all my constituents to reach out if they need assistance dealing with a federal agency or service. We are here to help!"

Congressman Lawler is one of the most bipartisan members of the 118th Congress and represents New York's 17th Congressional District, which is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
