Today, Congressman Lawler released a statement following former President Trump's announcement that he would seek to address the SALT Cap, which has impacted New Yorkers since its imposition in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.
"I'm glad to hear that former President Trump has committed to lifting the cap on SALT, which has harmed so many Hudson Valley families since 2017," said Congressman Lawler. "Since taking office, this has been a top priority for me. I was proud to have introduced legislation to address this wrong, and I look forward to getting this done on behalf of my constituents."
Congressman Lawler is one of the most bipartisan members of the 118th Congress and represents New York's 17th Congressional District, which is just north of New York City and contains all or parts of Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Westchester Counties.
