Fallen Spring Valley firefighter Jared Llyod was honored posthumously as Firefighter of the Year at the Firefighters Association of the State of New York statewide convention for his "heroic act of valor and personal sacrifice rescuing residents and staff of the Evergreen Court Home for Adults and his fellow firefighter Eric Cich on March 23, 2021."
Members of the Spring Valley Fire Department and the family of Jared Lloyd attended the Heroes Award Ceremony held in Tarrytown.
