It is the first Congressional District Office in Putnam County in over a decade. 

Today, Monday, June 26th, Congressman Mike Lawler released the following statement after opening a Congressional District Office in Carmel, the first official Congressional District Office in Putnam in over a decade.

“It's great to be here in the Town of Carmel in Putnam County," said Congressman Lawler. "When we were looking at opening an office on this side of the river, we really wanted to be in a location that was accessible to residents east of the Hudson River."

"Thanks to the generosity of the Town of Carmel, and especially Supervisor Michael Cazzari, in offering this space to us at Town Hall so that we can serve our constituents, I am excited to open this office today, which will be open five days a week to constituents from Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess Counties," continued Congressman Lawler. "From passports to IRS issues to veterans issues and more, it's great to have a location that we can operate out of that people can come visit on a daily basis to receive assistance from our office."

"Constituent services really is the most important part of the work that we do as elected officials," concluded Congressman Lawler. "I'm proud of my staff and the work that they've done in less than six months, to serve our community and address the concerns of our residents. We've closed over a thousand cases in less than six months, with more cases being closed every day. I know this office here in Carmel will go a long way towards helping Putnam County residents, and I'm proud to be opening the first Congressional District Office in Putnam County in over a decade.

"Anyone who works in public service knows how critical constituent services are," said Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne. "It helps make a critical impact on our neighbors, and you, Congressman Lawler, choosing to set up shop right here in the heart of Putnam County, in the Town of Carmel, at Town Hall, says a lot to the people of Putnam County that you care and that you are here to support the residents of Putnam."
