Mary P. Leahy, MD, MHA, CEO of Bon Secours Charity Health System and a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is a respected figure in the medical field. With over 30 years of practice as a board-certified Internist, Dr. Leahy's career has been marked by dedication, collaboration, and community service.

After receiving her Master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Boston College, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center. During her tenure there from 1985 to 1986, she served as Chief Medical Resident.

Before co-founding Rockland Pulmonary & Medical Associates, Dr. Leahy founded and operated a successful solo practice. She later took on the role of Senior Vice President of Physician Operations for Bon Secours Medical Group where she oversaw its expansion from over 60 practitioners to more than 120.

In 2013, Dr. Leahy assumed the position of CEO at Bon Secours Charity Health System. In this role, she sets the strategic vision and provides leadership for system-wide operations that include three acute care hospitals, the Bon Secours Medical Group, a regional home health care agency, two long-term care facilities, an assisted living facility and an adult home.

Dr. Leahy played an instrumental role in the joint venture between Bon Secours Health System and Westchester Medical Center (WMC) during 2014-2015 - a testament to her strategic acumen. Her contributions have earned her recognition such as membership in the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and the Hudson Valley Magazine Sixth Annual Women in Business Award in 2017.

In addition to being a recipient of the RBA Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Woman in Business, Dr. Leahy serves on several boards including Catholic Charities of New York, Rockland Business Association and Rockland Economic Development Corporation.

Her compassionate, courageous and unselfish nature is evident in her tireless efforts to solve problems and contribute to the greater good in her community. Married for 39 years with two children, Dr. Leahy embodies the best of Rockland County and is truly a Woman of Distinction.
