The County of Rockland has designated May as Mental Health Awareness Month.
The last two years and counting resulted in unprecedented trials for families, friends, businesses, and communities, which is why it is more crucial than ever that we confront the stigma of mental illness.
The proclamation was presented Tuesday to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Rockland. NAMI Rockland assists people living with mental illness and their families through education, support, and advocacy, by Rockland County Deputy County Executive Mike Hoblin.
Town of Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann also presented a proclamation declaring May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Clarkstown.
