Today is World Prematurity Day. About 10% of babies born in the U.S. are premature, and most are treated in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the hospital. Skin-to-skin contact with parents has been shown to be beneficial for premature babies, and so has breastfeeding.
Contact your local WIC office for help with breastfeeding and/or find the right infant formula for your premature baby. For more information and to find a WIC office in Rockland County, please visit: http://ow.ly/6BXM30shQwR or call (845) 364-2577
